Ever since 2007, countries around the world have been celebrating Earth Hour every year on March 26 in order to fight back climate change. But for us in Myanmar, we think of this as a joke (no offense) because we had been living without 24 hours electricity for many years. Now, we in Yangon are getting a nearly 24 hour electricity after Yeywa Power Plant was opened. Even then, there are still electricity shortage in some townships.
Actually, not many people even know about Earth Hour so I doubt that they will be turning off their lights tonight, unless the electricity is out. I hope EPC don’t cut off the electricity in order to participate in the event j/k
