About

Hello everyone,

Although my nickname is madyjune, my friends prefer to call me Mady. I am from Yangon, the former capital of Myanmar.

I am one of the earliest Myanmar blogger, but also the laziest so I don’t update much. I used to write both in English & Myanmar, but now I only write in English.

I like watching Korean dramas so I had spent most of my times discussing about Kdramas in Bagan Net Forum & Native Myanmar Forum. So people nicknamed me Drama Queen. Now, I don’t watch Kdramas that much anymore mostly because I am choosy and I only watch those with high ratings or good plots.

I also like watching Japanese dramas.

Besides, watching dramas and movies, I like to read English novels. I rarely read Myanmar novels because there are too many English novels to choose from.

People assume that I try a lot to be good at English. Actually, I barely pick up my books unless I have to. I only read books, listen to songs, and watch movies and tv series. That’s my way of keeping in touch with English 🙂

Right now, I’m attending M.A (English) course and working as a part-time assistant teacher on the weekends.

  1. hi Mady, your English is impeccable.
I like the way you write.
you may be lazy but i think you are pretty smart.
keep up with your good job.

  2. Hello Mady,
I have a client who is looking for Myanmar bloggers for an education campaign which will be held in Myanmar. Would you be interested to be part of the campaign?
Hope to hear from you soon!

  3. Hi Maddy, I’d like to get in touch with the Myanmar Bloggers Society but can’t find a website or anything other than their Facebook page. It’s for some reesearch I’m doing about minority language rights in Myanmar – I thought there might be some bloggers either writing about this or who are from such groups. Can you pass my contact details on to someone who might be able to help? Thanks, Tom. w_t_allan@yahoo.com

  4. Hi Mady,
My name is Vishaal. I’m developing a backpackers travel show for south east asia and I’m currently researching Myanmar, which is likely to be one of my first stops. I was wondering if I could get some help with the research. It would really help to get some inside knowledge from a local and particularly a blogger in terms of the food culture, music and travel spots that the local people in Myanmar prefer (I don’t want to dwell on the more obvious tourist spots).
    Thanks!
    Vishaal

  5. Hello Madyjune:
Would you be available to write an article or two for a magazine in July or August 2015 regarding Myanmar topics? Are you affiliated with any freelance places such as freelancer.com, elance.com, fiveer.com, odesk.com? Thank you.
